Winestation

Historical as the Reign of Italy, in 1865 it was built in Torrenieri di Montalcino one of the oldest stations in a country finally united. Today, one hundred forty-two years later - reconceived by Franco Mazzetti and restructured by the Archeology cooperative - the station is returned to its role as a port with access to a vast and unspoiled territory, open to the wind of innovation and curiosity to those who want to understand, discover, create.

Winestation - Stazione Torrenieri Montalcino

Abandoned for decades, the station, thanks to the commitment of the provinces of Siena and Grosseto that make the maintenance of the train possible, memory won the challenge. Out of oblivion, into the future through the past. A Station, but also a meeting place, and it is with this idea that the ancient local weighing station has been transformed into a wine bar: Binario Zero, operating since the summer of 2007, offering theme nights and live music. For who comes visiting the Wine Train now will also find open the Wagon-emporium, a real wine cellar equipped with the most valuable and famous wines of the area, as well as the local gastronomic specialties.

Emporio Wagon & Teaching Wagon

The station also has a Teaching Wagon, a multi location where meetings take place on various types of wine (courses, conferences, demonstrations of traditional recipes, tasting). At Winestation there is also a Child Space, dedicated to the little guests, who during the tours will be happily entertained by our professional animators. Beyond the tracks is Winecircus, the experimental winery of Roberto Cipresso - Wine Oscars 2006, a true research laboratory on wine and Terroirs, or rather the land, the soil where the vines grow.
